Ariana Grande dropped jaws at her Sweetener Tour opener this week, but not before thrilling fans with a sweet tribute to late ex, Mac Miller.
This Monday, March 18, the singer arrived at Times Union Center in Albany, New York to perform her hit songs to an adoring audience. But as fans waited for her to come onto the stage, they got to listen to a string of Mac Miller classics, which were playing on all speakers at the venue.
"Ariana Grande is playing Mac Miller right before her opening song for Sweetener tour rn and my heart can't handle it SO MANY TEARS," one concert goer tweeted.
"They're playing Mac while we wait for Ariana," another fan wrote on Twitter.
"Ariana Grande had Mac Miller's music playing while people got into their seats for her concert," a third fan wrote, adding four crying emojis.
RadarOnline.com readers know Miller died of an accidental drug overdose on September 7, 2018, when he was just 26. Ever since his passing, Grande, 25, has honored his memory and shared powerful tributes to him on social media and in her music.
Her hit single "thank u, next" mentions Miller, while her fan-favorite track "ghostin" touches on her own mourning process after losing him.
At the time Grande created Sweetener, she was engaged to Pete Davidson, but weeks after Miller's death, the two called it quits.
