YouTube star Austin Jones reportedly pleaded guilty on Friday, February 1, 2019 to one count of receipt of child porn. He reportedly coerced six teenage girls into sending him sexually explicit material.
The Illinois musician, 26, was arrested in 2017 at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport after he returned from an international tour. Jones' bust happened after shocking news that he'd reportedly enticed underage girls to send him sexually explicit videos and photos of themselves.
His sentencing is scheduled for May 3, 2019. He faces up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines.
According to reports, Jones, known for his huge YouTube following for his a capella renditions of pop songs, will be allowed to stay out of jail to continue therapy prior to his incarceration.
Jones admitted requesting and receiving videos, as Chicago's FOX32 reported. He allegedly told the 14 and 15 year old girls that they were required to strip for him for modeling opportunities. As RadarOnline.com previously reported, one girl said she made 15 videos for him. The other alleged victim said Jones told her she would get to perform a sex act on him if she was "lucky."
Court docs also alleged that Jones pressured a young teen into sending him videos of her genitalia in order to "prove" she was his biggest fan.
