Ryan Lochte is not letting the past go. In fact, he's making it a storyline on Celebrity Big Brother!
On Monday, February 11's dramatic episode, the pro swimmer told the sob story of his Olympic scandal, saying that all he wants is for fans to understand where he was coming from, and love him like they used to.
RadarOnline.com readers recall Lochte, 34, and three of his teammates claimed that they had been held at gunpoint and robbed at a Rio de Janeiro gas station during the Brazil Summer Olympics in 2016. Later, he admitted he had "over-exaggerated" the story. Soon, the beloved athlete was dropped by four of his sponsors and charged with filing a false police report.
"They blamed us because I fabricated the story," Lochte told his Big Brother houseguests. "I said the gun was pointed at my head but, it was, like, from me to you. But when I told the story, I was still, like, really… drunk."
Lochte said the scandal led to "the hardest time of my life, because I went from everyone loved me, and I was on top of the world, and then I was one of the most hated people."

He added that having fans tell him he was no longer their idol was the worst part.
"I'm a role model for these kids, and when I get messages saying 'You should die,' and 'I thought were you my role model; you're not anymore,' that is what really got me," Lochte said, beginning to tear up.
After his Olympic drama, Lochte has been seeking the spotlight with TV gigs such as Dancing With The Stars.
He also sought treatment for alcohol addiction in October 2018 after reportedly attempting to kick down a hotel room door in California.
The star and wife Kayla Rae Reid are expecting their second child in June.
