Sore Loser! Inside Ryan Lochte's Backstage Meltdown After 'DWTS' Elimination
Nov. 1 2016, Updated 9:13 p.m. ET
Ryan Lochte's winning streak has officially come to an end and he is not pleased! The 12-time Olympic medal winner went home empty handed last night when he was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars and RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that Lochte shocked the cast and crew with a massive meltdown backstage.
"After Ryan lost last night, he freaked out backstage because he honestly thought that he was the one to beat," a source close to production for ABC's hit celebrity dancing competition show said.
"On his way out, he snapped at one of the producers for no reason and he did not thank everyone," said the source. "He stormed off set without even saying goodbye!"
Lochte was, undoubtedly, one of the most controversial contestants, as he joined the cast right after getting caught lying about being robbed at gunpoint during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Then, during one of the first tapings this season, Lochte was attacked by protestors boycotting his appearance on the show.
"Ryan caused so many problems in the short time he was on the show and the people on set could just not stand him anymore," the insider said.
"He came into this thing trying to be all humble and, by the end, he was not only ungrateful, but also really cocky."
As RadarOnline.com reported last week, Lochte proposed to Playboy model Kayla Rae Reid last week and, according to sources, the fame-thirsty couple is already shopping their wedding around to networks in the hopes of cashing in on their nuptials.
"Ryan was more interested in looking for his next gig then he was in rehearsing for the show and he kinda seemed to give up these past couple of weeks," the source told RadarOnline.com.
"But no one was complaining because everyone pretty much shared the same sentiment," the insider added. "They are all just glad he is finally gone!"
