Pregnant Meghan Markle is making sure she'll have all the help she needs when she gives birth to her baby by Prince Harry this spring. After Us Weekly broke the news that Markle would be working with a birth partner, known as a doula, The Sun on Sunday has revealed details on the woman, Lauren Mishcon.
Markle, 37, is breaking royal tradition by hiring mother of three Mischon to hold her hand through the birth, expected this April. Doulas relieve the stress and worry of pregnant mothers and advise them how best to relax during labor with breathing and positions. It's been noted that experienced doulas can reduce labor by two hours.
Mischon will be Markle's carer alongside a regular midwife, according to The Sun.
The 40-year-old woman comes from a prominent family; she's married to Oliver Mishcon, whose attorney grandfather was head of the legal firm that handled Harry's mother Princess Diana’s 1996 split from his dad Prince Charles. Mishcon is reportedly coaching dad-to-be Prince Harry, 34, on how to support his wife during labor.
Markle is expected to give birth at the Lindo Wing at London’s St Mary’s Hospital, where Prince William's wife Kate Middleton has had their children. Mischon has been coy about working for Markle, writing on a doula-related online board, "I’m busy in Spring."
When The Sun asked Mischon about Markle, she replied, "Well, I am obviously not at liberty to talk about who, or who might not, be my client. So I can’t possibly . . . I wouldn’t be able to talk to you about anything."
As Us Weekly previously reported, the doula has visited the Duchess and Harry several times at their homes in Great Tew, Oxfordshire, and at Kensington Palace.
"Meghan is focused on calm and positive energy around the birth — she is a big believer in that," a source told Us. As RadarOnline.com has extensively reported, rumors about Markle being a diva have flown.
In royal biographer Robert Jobson‘s book Charles at 70: Thoughts, Hopes and Dreams, he claimed that before the May royal wedding, Prince Harry raised his voice and yelled, “What Meghan wants, she gets!”
Markle is pulling out the Duchess card when it comes to her pregnancy, as a source told RadarOnline.com the former actress has hired a team of 20 doctors to help with the birth of her first child!
According to a Daily Star report, the medics will be at Meghan’s beck and call, 24 hours a day, every day until the royal baby is born. They will be banned from booze until the big day and have already been sworn to secrecy.
With the doula, Markle's elaborate birth team appears to be in place for the big day!
