Ex-Wife Of Jamie Lynn Spears’ Baby Daddy Defends Him After Drug Arrest

Jamie Lynn Spears’ baby daddy Casey Aldridge isn’t fighting his battle with drug abuse alone. After Aldridge was arrested for drugs earlier this month, his ex-wife April Watson revealed exclusively to RadarOnline.com that the bust doesn’t make him any less of a father.
“Casey has a tremendous battle to fight,” Watson told RadarOnline.com. “But that does not make him a bad person or a bad dad.”
Aldridge and Watson share daughter Skylar together, whom they welcomed in 2014. He is also father to daughter Maddie, 10, with Spears.
“My daughter loves him and to see him being picked apart is hurtful,” she said. “It’s easy to judge someone when you don’t know what they have to deal with on a daily basis or you’ve never dealt with something like this personally.”
She continued that drug abuse “could just very well happen to others and their loved ones.”
She ended the statement with, “I think we should all throw a few less stones and lift up more prayers.”
As RadarOnline.com reported, Aldridge, 29 was arrested on Monday, February 11.
In the Adams Sheriff’s Office incident report obtained by RadarOnline.com, Aldridge was charged with possession of Oxycodone, Lorazepam, Xanax and drug paraphernalia.
“I made contact with Casey Aldridge, who was passed out in the driver seat with the vehicle still in drive,” the reporting officer wrote.
Aldridge was transported to a hospital. He was then arrested and charged with the four drug-related counts.
According to the Adams County Jail, he was released on Friday, February 15.
Aldridge told RadarOnline.com exclusively, “I’m going to do everything in my power to better myself and not have to go through situations like this and make sure it never happens again.”
He said of his drug use, “It’s kinda been going on a little while. It’s been an issue for a while.”
RadarOnline.com broke that Aldridge was charged with driving under the influence, possession of paraphernalia and reckless driving on May 25, 2016 in Amite County, Mississippi.
Aldridge, 29, appeared in court on June 1, 2016, where he was found guilty on all three charges. He was sentenced to 12 months probation.
Watson filed for divorce from Aldridge on September 1, 2017. Their divorce was finalized on June 8, 2018.
Aldridge was 18 years old when he welcomed Maddie with Britney Spears' younger sister, who was 16 at the time.
Spears, 27, moved on with husband Jamie Watson, whom she married in 2014. They share daughter Ivey Joan.
