‘Temptation Island’ Star's Tragic Past: Evan Smith’s Father Murdered By Mistress’ Drug Dealer Husband

Evan Smith is appearing on Temptation Island with his on-again, off-again girlfriend Kaci Campbell to figure out if he’s ready to commit to their relationship. RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal Evan’s father Gavin was murdered by his mistress’ drug dealer husband.
Gavin, who worked as a film distribution executive for 20th Century Fox, went missing on May 1, 2012. He was last seen leaving a female friends house in Ventura County.
In February 2013, investigators located Gavin’s car in a storage locker that belonged to John Creech. Creech received an eight-year prison sentence for an unrelated drug charge after the murder.
Gavin was pronounced legally dead on May 1, 2014. Then on October 26, 2014, hikers came across his remains.
John is the estranged husband of Chandrika Cade, who began an affair with Gavin in 2008. Although they ended the romance when his wife confronted Gavin, they began e-mailing again in 2010. When Lisa found out the affair had continued, she drove with two of her sons to John’s house. The two continued to see each other two years later.
John was sentenced to 11 years in prison for voluntary manslaughter.
At the sentencing, Gavin’s wife Lisa told the judge that John beat her husband to death.
“He wouldn't man up to what he did," she said, according to NBC Los Angeles. "Eleven years isn't enough, but I understand that's the maximum you can give him."
Evan said at the sentencing that the death “turned his life upside down.”
"I suffer from PTSD now because of this man in this courtroom," he said, adding that John "savagely ripped my dad out of my life."
Evan has posted about his father on his Twitter page.
“Just finished up a news conf in Commerce,” he wrote on June 5, 2012. “Hopefully this helps find my Dad. My family and I put up $20,000 reward. Plz help.”
He then wrote on May 16, 2012, “My fam and I are still looking for my Dad. It’s been over 14 days. Rly scary stuff. Pray and keep him in your prayers. We gotta find him.”

Evan has been with his girlfriend Kaci for 10 years on and off. While she is ready for marriage and having children, he can’t bring himself to propose.
