Soccer Star Wayne Rooney Arrested For Public Intoxication And Swearing - Details

Soccer star Wayne Rooney was arrested at an airport on public intoxication and swearing charges.
The multi-millionaire player was ordered to pay $25 as a result of the charges.
He was arrested in Loudoun County, Virginia, on December 16, 2018, home to Washington Dulles airport.
Rooney currently plays for DC United in Washington DC and was also ordered to pay costs of $91 on top of his fine.
The 33-year-old player was arrested by the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority, although it is unclear if he was held at the airport.
A spokesman for Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said: 'He was booked into the Loudoun County Adult Detention Centre on December 16 2018, on a charge of public intoxication stemming from an arrest by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police.
'He was later released on a personal re-cognisance bond.'
In US law public swearing and intoxication is a regarded as a 'class 4 misdemeanor' - a minor crime.
It is understood that his wife Coleen Rooney went back to Great Britain after his arrest.
