See Ya, NBC! Kathie Lee Plans Move To Nashville After ‘Today’ Show Departure

Move over Garth Brooks! RadarOnline.com has learned TODAY show runaway Kathie Lee Gifford plans to move to Nashville.
“Kathie Lee is going to write music and perform her songs in dive bars!” a source told RadarOnline.com. "Her children are grown, and she’s single. She feels like a teenager again and is looking to start a new life." (A rep for Gifford denied her plans to start over down south.)
As RadarOnline.com readers know, Gifford, 65, announced in December that she would be leaving her spot on the Today show’s fourth hour in April.
“It’s an exciting time for me and I’m thrilled about the projects coming up,” she said when she made her initial announcement. “But it’s also hard is because the reason I stayed longer than a year is because I love everybody here.”
Gifford, a trained singer, will have plenty of material for a country music career, including backstabbing friends, feuds with co-hosts, and unceremoniously getting dumped by her own network.
As RadarOnline.com has reported, after 11 years at NBC, peacock network execs grew tired of Gifford, and were anxious to replace her with a younger host.
“NBC wants younger viewers, and at 65, she’s long in the tooth,” another source revealed to RadarOnline.com. “They want someone who can be a female counterpart to Craig Melvin, who isn’t even 40 yet."
