HGTV's 'Desert Flippers' Stars Slam Chip & Joanna At Trade Show: Their Job Is 'Easy'

Desert Flippers stars Eric and Lindsey Bennett are tired of being compared to fellow HGTV power couple Chip & Joanna Gaines, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.
The Bennetts, who have been married for nearly 8 years, are currently in their third season of their HGTV home renovation show set in Palm Springs, Calif. On Monday, January 28, the couple took the stage at the Las Vegas Market Home and Gift trade show where they couldn't hide their true feelings for network rivals Chip and Joanna.
At the show, Eric fielded a question from an audience member who asked for his opinion on Joanna's love of shiplap, which she often uses to decorate clients' homes.
"I don't know who that is," the Desert Flippers husband sarcastically snapped.
Eric then claimed that the Waco, Texas couple's home renovating work is "easy" compared to the home renovation challenges he and Lindsey tackle.
"Joanna gets money upfront from her clients and works with them to create their dream house," Eric told the crowd. "They don't put up any of their own cash. When we flip a house, it's our money on the line."
Of course, Eric and Lindsey are likely used to being compared to the Gaines due to their similarities – but an eyewitness at the event claimed the two looked infuriated at the mention of them.
"You could tell that it irked them both to be compared to Chip and Jo," said the onlooker. "Eric made it very clear that house 'flippers' who take huge financial risks are different than those who remodel existing homes for owners. Point taken. After that no one in the audience brought them up again!"

Lindsey chimed in with a lighter sentiment for the crowd to explain their differences from the Gaines.
"When I design I have to be more minimalist and use a more monochromatic color scheme. I can glam it up a bit with staging, but I have to appeal to more buyers," she said.
Eric and Lindsey have three children. As RadarOnline.com readers know, Joanna and Chip welcomed their fifth child last year.
After major success, Chip and Joanna announced in 2018 they would stop filming Fixer Upper. Months later, however, the couple confirmed on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon that they're in talks to start their own network.
