“Now that the dust is settling on his circus-like marriage to Priyanka, Nick has been using some of his rare downtime to spend private time with Brian, who has been his musical idol for decades,” a source told Radar.
Jonas, 26, recently filmed an interview for an untitled documentary on the crooner, talking about how Wilson, 76, influenced his music.
“Nick and Brian have grown a mutual admiration for each other after Nick reached out to him about a year ago,” the source added. “And Nick is making a point of appreciating Brian while he's still with us and making new music.”
Wilson’s brief association with Manson in the late ‘60s doesn’t even faze Jonas, according to the source. As Radar has reported, Wilson’s brother, Dennis, met Manson after the drummer picked up and drove home two female hitchhikers who happened to be living in Manson's cult.
Before long, Dennis and Manson were living together. The friendship soured when Dennis took Manson, an aspiring musician, to record at his studio. Manson had a disagreement with Dennis.
But for the young Jonas, that was a different time. The “Jealous” singer is thrilled to be forging a friendship with his musical idol.
“It’s a very special relationship,” the source admitted. “And the culmination of a longtime dream of Nick’s that he's actually managed to get a friendship going there.”
