Megyn Kelly Trying To Finalize NBC Exit Settlement Quickly
Megyn Kelly is reportedly trying to quickly resolve her exit from NBC so she can get back to work somewhere else. According to The Blast, sources say ex-Today show star Kelly would trade some of the reported $30m payoff for the freedom to get back to work as soon as possible.
As The Blast has reported, Kelly is deep in exit negotiations and NBC wants to structure the deal so she receives the money remaining on her contract over the next year and a half. That is the amount of time she has left on her original network deal.
NBC wants to ensure Kelly stands by the confidentiality agreement the network wants to be included in the settlement, the website's sources note.
The negotiations to sign the deal have reportedly stalled, the sources say, because NBC wants her exit agreement to include specific language which bars her from saying anything at all after the documents are signed.
Page Six had previously reported how Kelly could walk away with as much as $30 million free and clear. The New York publication said that Kelly will receive the whopping sum as part of an exit package that will effectively terminate the $69 million deal she inked with the peacock network just last year.
But The Blast sources say the settlement amount will be about $37 million in salary and bonuses once all is signed. "Everyone wants this to be over— both Megyn and NBC — and Comcast has the money to pay off Megyn," a source told Page Six.
As RadarOnline.com has extensively reported, Kelly, who recently turned 48, got the axe from NBC after her offensive on-camera comments defending blackface. It's up in the air if Kelly will land anywhere else on TV, as there were more issues besides her blackface scandal that led to her ignominious NBC end. She also got terrible ratings and was allegedly ostracized by other news personalities.

But Kelly wants a deal that permits her get back to work immediately once things are settled. And according to a Blast insider, Kelly's "phone is blowing up" with offers from other networks. As RadarOnline.com reported, a source previously claimed that Kelly wants to return to her former employer, Fox News.
That's where the blonde beauty first became a big TV star thanks to a Presidential debate and the insider pointed out, "At Fox News, Megyn was a princess."
Another source told RadarOnline.com, "…This is far from the end of her TV career — in the Trump era, there are few broadcasters like her."
