Queen Elizabeth and Kate Middleton would never approve of this!

No one can tell Meghan Markle what to do — not even the Queen of England!
This Monday, the Duchess of Sussex went back to her Hollywood roots by making a surprise appearance at the British Fashion Awards. There, she proudly presented her wedding dress designer, Clare Waight Keller — the artistic director of Givenchy – with the British Womenswear Designer of the Year award.
Meghan, 37, looked stunning in a black off-the-shoulder Givenchy gown, matching earrings and a gold bracelet. She was glowing as she cradled her baby bump and looked happy as ever while onstage with some fellow stars. But her black nails are where it all went wrong. Though the former Suits actress smartly chose an appropriate nail polish to match her outfit, royal fans know Queen Elizabeth and Kate Middleton would never approve!
Though there is no set decree banning royals rom wearing bright, eye-catching or colorful nail polish, it's an unspoken rule that nude, clear, or light pink are best. In fact, Queen Elizabeth has been wearing Essie's "Ballet Slippers" polish since 1989!
As if that wasn't enough, Meghan also wore an all-black outfit: another no-no in the royal rule book. Regardless, the pregnant stunner seemed unfazed by her daring fashion choices. As RadarOnline.com readers know, she is now an official Duchess and will soon be delivering Prince Harry's first child — so following the monarch's stylebook is not her biggest priority.
This is also not the first time Meghan has broken royal protocol. During one of her first outings, she wore a suit rather than a dress, and another time stepped out in a sheer black gown that may have revealed a bit too much. Then, while attending an event with the Queen, she forgot to do the Duchess slant, and crossed her legs instead!
It's clear Meghan Markle is no ordinary royal.
