Showdown! Katie & Jamie To 'Clear The Air' With Tom Before Engagement Reveal

Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are planning for a clear-the-air sitdown with Tom Cruise, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively, before officially announcing their engagement.

“This has been the elephant in the room for so long, and they figure it’s time to finally address it head-on,” an insider told RadarOnline.com. “That means sitting down with Tom face to face, explaining how they fell in love and assuring him there was never any crossover when he and Katie were married.”

As RadarOnline.com readers know, rumors that Holmes might be dating Cruise’s ex best friend Foxx started swirling in 2013, just a year after the Dawson’s Creek star divorced the Mission Impossible hunk.

But Holmes refused to confirm the relationship at first, because of a secret divorce deal with Cruise.  A source claimed that Holmes allegedly signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevented her from embarrassing Cruise in various ways, like “talking about him or Scientology or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce,” the source claimed.

Now that the five-year window has passed, Holmes and Foxx have been a lot more open with their feelings and have started talking about taking the next step.  Foxx is even expected to adopt daughter Suri after the ceremony, something sources say the 12-year-old wants to happen.

“They’ll need to address the Suri situation, too, because Jamie will be living with her and being a full-time stepdad,” the insider added.

As RadarOnline.com has reported, Cruise hasn’t been a full-time part of Suri’s life since 2013. But it seems the Top Gun star is ready to accept the fact that his ex-wife has moved on.

“It’s incredibly delicate and sure to be tense, but Tom seems open to making it happen and he’s mellowed a lot about the Katie and Jamie situation," the source said.

As RadarOnline.com reported, Holmes and Cruise have had near run-ins in recent days. While the actor was visiting Disney World in Orlando, Florida this weekend with friends, the mom relaxed with Foxx in nearby Miami.
