Selena Ready To Reach New ‘Heights’ In Big Screen Comeback After Breakdown

Selena Gomez is being offered a blank check by Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, who RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively wants her to star in a film adaptation of his classic debut musical In the Heights.
“The timing is great because they’re casting right now, and Selena is healthy, hungry and ready to return to work,” an insider told RadarOnline.com.
As RadarOnline.com readers know, Gomez, 26, has been out of the spotlight since suffering a mental and emotional breakdown in October. According to reports, her health crisis hit while she was hospitalized for low white blood cell count one year after undergoing a kidney transplant.
On top of her physical health problems, the star’s ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber’s marriage to rebound Hailey Baldwin sent her over the edge, sources said.
In early November, after about a month in rehab, Gomez checked herself out, reportedly "doing much better” and feeling “refreshed and in a better head space.”
Now Tony award winner Miranda is bending over backwards to sign her up.
“Selena's going to need top billing and a salary that goes with that,” the insider added. “And that’s no problem.”
The only thing that might complicate the dream team-up would be a clash of character between the two superstars.
“Of course Lin is a fan, but many wonder if he has the stomach to let Selena really be the star of a show that he originated from scratch,” the insider confessed. “They need each other to get this project going, but they also both have pretty huge egos.”
