Heather Locklear will remain in treatment on an involuntary hold for up to 14 days after her latest breakdown last week, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.
An insider claimed to Radar that the deeply troubled Melrose Place star, 57, was placed on a 5250, which allows an officer or clinician to confine a patient with mental disorders to the hospital for two weeks after an initial 72-hour 5150 hold.
"This gives the experts working with her extra time to assess and deliver the help she is in dire need of," the insider explained to Radar.
As Radar previously reported, Locklear is expected to remain in a facility through the holidays after she was rushed to the hospital on November 18 following what sources said was another fight with fiancé Chris Heisser.
"She's not going to leave for a while — her last stint was for 90 days and everyone wants her to get better, no matter how long it takes, where she's not a risk to herself or anyone else," the source told Radar.
She was last hospitalized in June after she allegedly attacked a cop and an EMT. She was rushed to treatment, and was released in October to celebrate her daughter Ava's 21st birthday.
She still faces eight misdemeanor charges related to her two latest arrests, to which she has pleaded not guilty.
