Renowned French actor Gerard Depardieu is struggling to stay above water as he fights against accusations he raped a woman earlier this year.

According to AFP, French police questioned the Green Card star about the alleged sexual assault this Tuesday, but he has strongly denied all claims.

As RadarOnline.com readers know, an aspiring actress in her twenties accused Depardieu, 69, of having raped her inside his Paris mansion between August 7 and 13 of this year. She told police earlier that month that she had gone to him for advice on how to advance her career when the assault happened.

“Gerard Depardieu absolutely denies any attack, any rape," the actor’s lawyer, Herve Temime, told AFP after the actress filed her complaint. “I regret the public nature of this process which is doing major harm to Gerard Depardieu, whose innocence will certainly be proven.”
