Ashton Kutcher's Late Girlfriend's Alleged Killer Makes Shocking Court Appearance

The man who allegedly killed Ashton Kutcher's girlfriend Ashley Ellerin way back in 2001 has appeared in court, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

The case of alleged murderer Michael Gargiulo has dragged on for years before going to trial.

Back in 2001, Kutcher was dating Ellerin, 22, when she was brutally murdered in her own Los Angeles home. Investigators said she was stabbed 47 times and her head was almost severed from her body.

Gargiulo, who was Ellerin's neighbor and worked as a repair man, was arrested in 2008 and charged with her murder.

But that wasn't all—Gargiulo also confessed to be a serial killer, claiming he murdered as many as 10 other women.

Gargiulo has been charged with three counts of murder and one of attempted murder.

In an interview with RadarOnline.com last year, his lawyer Dan Nardoni said, "He’s changed lawyers a lot, but I’m not going to get into why. I’ve been on the case for about a year. We are moving as quickly as possible, but we have 36,000 pages of discoveries, and that doesn’t include photos and audio tapes."

In court documents, prosecutors described the accused murderer as “a serial, psychosexual thrill killer who engages in the systematic slaughter of beautiful women because he takes sexual pleasure from manipulating, stabbing, and killing his victims.”

On Friday, November 2, Gargiulo appeared calm as he was brought into court for a motion hearing at the Criminal Justice Center in Downtown L.A.

He sported a shaved head and mustache during the brief hearing.

Gargiulo wore an orange prison-issue jump suit and glasses and took notes during the proceeding.

Judge Larry Fidler set another motion hearing for February 1 of next year; Gargiulo’s trial is expected to start some time in spring 2019.

Ellerin's family members are outraged about the delays to Gargiulio’s trial, and Kutcher needs closure, too.

The actor was 23 and appearing on That '70s Show when he romanced fashion student Ellerin.

They enjoyed going to L.A. nightclubs together.

According to Kutcher’s statement to the LAPD on the day after the murder, Ellerin had called him the afternoon before her death, and reportedly tried to make a date with him. But Kutcher turned down her offer to get together.

But he promised her that he would stop by her bungalow after the Grammys' broadcast that night. When the show was over, Kutcher tried to phone Ellerin twice. She didn’t pick up.

The actor drove to Ellerin's house around 10:45p.m. and banged on her door, but there was no answer so he left.

Ellerin’s roommate discovered her body the next morning.
