More Legal Drama! Artie Lange Facing Prison Time For Breaking Probation

Artie Lange is facing hard prison time after he failed a drug test and broke his probation, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor of New Jersey, Howard Stern's former sidekick is expected "back in court on Friday for a hearing on his violation of probation."

"He has not complied with the terms of his probation," Katherine Carter, a spokesperson for the prosecutor told RadarOnline.com exclusively. "As of yesterday, he was not in treatment."

"The hearing on Friday will address these issues," Carter added.

The shocking news comes on the heels of Lange's announcement that he would be checking himself into an inpatient rehab center.

"I’m about to go to a drug treatment and commit to a full rehab — inpatient,” Lange revealed on Tuesday on New Jersey's 101.5 radio show. “I don’t know. I’m a very humble guy at this point. And I think I’m ready to go and do what I got to do. It’s been long enough.”

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Lange was sentenced to four years probation on June 1, 2018 for his drug possession charges. The probation rules included random drug testing at any given moment.

During Lange's sentencing, Assistant Prosecutor, Tony Gutierrez warned that the comedian's health was almost to a point of no return.

“Mr. Lange is so self destructive that he can’t even seem to even help himself when he’s under the gun of a sentence,” Gutierrez said. “He’s either going to be found one day overdosed and dead somewhere or he is going to violate this probation.”

Judge Sivilli at the time followed with a statement of her own, warning the troubled comic that if he failed to abide by the rules he would be facing jail time.

“I hope you take this sentence seriously and do what you need to do — not only for you but for your family, who depend upon you,” Judge Sivilli told Lange over the summer . “This is your one chance.”
