Former Junior Wimbledon Tennis Winner Todd Reid Dead At 34 - Details
Australian tennis star Todd Reid has died aged only 34.
It is being reported that the former Wimbledon junior singles champion has passed away although his cause of death is still not known.
There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his passing.
After winning the Wimbledon junior title at 18, Reid turned professional.
He became Australia’s number three tennis player and ranked 105th best in the world during his career.
Reid made the third round of the Australian Open in 2004, before losing to eventual champion Roger Federer.
In 2005 his career was stalled with injuries and glandular fever before he made comebacks in 2008 and 2014.
In a statement the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, which hosts Wimbledon, paid tribute to him on Twitter.
They wrote: “The AELTC is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Todd Reid, our 2002 boys’ singles champion. The thoughts of all those at Wimbledon are with his family and friends.”
