“There are multiple casualties,” Pittsburgh Police Cmdr. Jason Lando said.

The shooter, described as a white male, surrendered “with a pistol in his waist band and one strapped to his ankle,” revealed a local source.

It is being reported SWAT officers grabbed the man’s weapons and managed to rescue several worshipers.

Police reportedly received several calls from people barricaded inside the Synagogue.

President Trump said he was watching the event unfolding.

He tweeted: “People in Squirrel Hill area should remain sheltered. Looks like multiple fatalities. Beware of active shooter. God Bless All!”
