'Little People' Star Matt Roloff's Divorce From Amy Almost Destroyed Their Son Jacob

RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned Jacob Roloff has had a tough time forgiving his dad for divorcing family matriarch Amy Roloff several years ago — and he blamed the Little People, Big World star for ruining the marriage.
"Jacob and his dad," 56-year-old Matt Roloff, "they don't have the best relationship," the insider told RadarOnline.com. "I think when his parents divorced he put a lot of the blame on his dad. His mom was hurting for a long time, and he believes Matt was the sole cause of that — like his dad is the one that blew up the whole family."
"I also know that they don't really see eye to eye on a lot of things and there's this tension between them, but they make it work," the insider continued. "They're both slowly building on their relationship, but I did know Jacob was very angry when his parents were first going through the divorce."
As RadarOnline.com reported, Jacob, 21, has been open about resenting his parents for making him grow up on the reality show and endure millions knowing about his family's drama.
"The entire concept of reality TV is strange because, as a viewer, you are subscribing to a particular illusion — that you are witnessing and being let in on the secrets of the subjects' lives," Jacob wrote in his book Out To See. "In reality you are being shown a shallow character and only what someone else approves of, in relation to narrative and talking points."
In 2015, three months after his parents filed for divorce, Jacob accused his family of stealing money from him.
"Man I wish it didn't feel like I was getting f***ed out of the money from the show that was my childhood right now," the disgruntled star wrote on Twitter.
But despite his past grievances, Jacob and his mom, Amy, 54, have managed to remain close.
On Mother's Day 2016, Jacob honored Amy in the sweetest way.
"I found this picture and I loved the memory of how simple that time was and how us kids would just run around and eat fruit, play soccer, and be outside; it was bliss!" he captioned an old photo of Amy and a little girl resembling his sister Molly, now 22. "Even with sibling and parent quarrels, it was all part of it. I love this picture and I love my mom."
