A Florida high school fashion teacher already charged with video voyeurism is being slapped with a whopping 353 additional charges after hundreds of images of girl students were found on his cellphone and laptop, RadarOnline.com has learned.
According to police, the incident took place at Bloomingdale High School in Tampa. Mark Ackett shot the videos and images in secret while students were changing in a space at the back of his classroom.
Ackett, 50, was arrested last month on a single charge after one of the teenage girls discovered hidden cellphones containing the disturbing images.
The student revealed that she had been wearing only a bra and underwear in the changing room when she noticed two boxes that had holes for camera lenses.
Ackett immediately resigned from his position with the school.
An additional 267 videos of girls "in various stages of undress' were uncovered after authorities conducted a forensic examination.
According to police, the victims ranged from ages 14 to 18.
"I wasn't skeptical of him at all," former student Emilee Runnels told the Tampa Bay Times after Ackett's initial arrest. "I thought he was such a genuine guy and one of my favorite teachers."
Ackett turned himself in to the Hillsbourgh County Sheriff's office on October 22. He admitted to filming the girls since January 2017.
He faces charges of 267 counts of video voyeurism, 73 counts of production of harmful material of a minor, and 13 counts of possession of child porn.
