Artie Lange Rushed To Hospital Due To 'Severe Illness'

Artie Lange was rushed to the hospital on Thursday, October 18, following health complications with his type two diabetes, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal.

According to an insider, Lange went to the emergency room after a "sudden drop in blood sugar."

The 50-year-old comic was scheduled to perform with fellow comedian, "The Reverend," Bob Levy on Saturday, October 20, but it has since been canceled.

Levy confirmed the news on Twitter, adding that Lange was currently "getting antibiotics for infections due to diabetes."

"He will be home Monday and is looking forward to getting back to what he loves...stand up," Levy added.

The Laugh It Up Comedy Club, where Lange was expected to perform also took to their Facebook page to reveal the news.

"Our team was just informed that Artie Lange has been hospitalized due to severe illness, so with great sadness, we are forced to cancel the event that was to be held tomorrow," the club said.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Lange was sentenced to four years of probation following his drug possession charges.

The comedian has been in and out of the hospital several times in the past year due to his drug use and complications with his diabetes.
