'MAFS' Star Amber Is 'Scared' Husband Dave Is Only 'Sexually Attracted' To Her
Amber Martorana has been insecure about her relationship with Dave Flaherty from the beginning – and she continues to have doubts about her husband's feelings on Married at First Sight. In an exclusive sneak peek, Martorana talks to her friends about her marriage.
"It's a little nerve-racking still," Amber said. "We've had some issues in the past. Sometimes Dave can be hard to read. We are not great at communicating. It's hard for us. I need more words of affirmation. He has a hard time of giving me what I need."
Amber then explained how while Dave is sexually attracted to her, as they've been "sleeping together every night," she doesn't know if that "equates to him being emotionally attracted."
"That's what makes me scared," she said. "I am getting older. I'm ready to find my life partner. If Dave's not it, I need to figure that out sooner rather than later. I'm really taking this decision seriously."
Amber has reason to worry, as Dave has been unsure as well.
"I think there are so many similarities between Amber and I, but there are also a lot of big differences I'm trying to figure out as well," he told a friend on a previous episode. "I just want someone who is constantly focused on making the best of it cause life is tough. Times get tough and she can make them tougher."
He admitted that he is "on the fence."
"There are a lot of really good times with Amber and then there are some tough times as well," he said. "There are a lot of reasons to be encouraged, but there's also a few reasons to be discouraged. It's a lot to think about as we come here to the end."
Drama started between the couple when Dave told Amber that his celebrity crush is actress Jessica Biel. She felt she was not good enough for Dave because of her appearance.
When Dave suggested she stop dying her hair blonde because it is falling out, she claimed he said it because he wants her to be brunette.
He gave his wife a 7.5 rating on another episode, causing another fight between the newlyweds.
She then became "bothered" when she saw Dave talking to her friend, who is a tall brunette.
"It goes along with all my insecurities of not being good enough," she admitted.
The two-hour decision day episode airs on October 16 at 9pm on Lifetime.
