Roseanne Barr is missing from the first promo of the The Conners, released by ABC.
The network decided on the spinoff after the doomed Roseanne revival was axed because of Barr's infamous racial remark against Valerie Jarrett.
The Conners got launched without Barr, 65, who was roundly criticized for her comments against the former Barack Obama official.
The show's new promo teases the fans by showing an empty sofa and asking: What's next?
But the network never explained how it would address Barr's disappearance.
Although co-star John Goddman did offer a clue.
"I guess he'll Dan Conner be mopey and sad because his wife's dead," he told The Times in the UK.
Goodman will return as Dan alongside Laurie Metcalf (Jackie),Sara Gilbert (Darlene), Lecy Goranson (Becky), and Michael Fishman (D.J.).
The Conners will now premiere on ABC this Oct. 16 at 8 p.m. ET.
