Cristhian Bahena Rivera, 24, the man accused of killing University of Iowa student, Mollie Tibbetts, has pleaded not guilty to her brutal murder.

Rivera was arraigned at 9:30 a.m. this Wednesday, and appeared before District Court Judge Joel Yates at the Poweshiek County Courthouse, according to various outlets.

As RadarOnline.com readers know, Rivera was arrested two weeks after Tibbetts disappeared while jogging near her boyfriend's house in Brooklyn, Iowa.

He was the one who led investigators to her body and told them he had followed her with his car while she jogged. He also said he went into a fit of rage when she threatened to call the cops on him, and next thing he knew, she was dead in his trunk.

The suspected killer blamed rage attacks and memory loss on his inability to recall the events of that dreadful night.

Now, however, Rivera is claiming he is not guilty of Tibbetts' murder.

As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, the man begged tax payers to give him money to hire his own private investigators in the case.

"This case is far from finished," a source close to the investigation told RadarOnline.com. "It appears there are more pieces to this puzzle – each day everyone learns something new about Cristhian Rivera – and the investigation will unravel all of the ghosts that he has in his closet."

Cristhian Bahena Rivera's trial is scheduled for April 2019.
