Julie Chen shocked the nation when she publicly defended her husband, Les Moonves, while hosting CBS' Big Brother and later quit The Talk to spend more time with him. But there was one powerful woman who was not surprised by the ballsy move: Hoda Kotb!
This Tuesday on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the Today host said that she partly understood why Chen, 48, made the decision to leave the show.
As RadarOnline.com readers recall, Chen's announcement comes after she publicly slammed CBS and stood by her man while wrapping up her segment. At the time, she signed off by looking straight at the camera and saying: "I'm Julie Chen Moonves. Goodnight."
"I think that was probably a tough decision for her," Kotb, 54, told Andy Cohen. "That show…You have to give so much of your personal life in it."
As Radar readers know, the former CBS CEO was accused of sexual abuse by a collection of women. He denied all claims.
"I sort of get it. It would be hard to be on that show if you couldn't share," continued Kotb. "So I sort of understood."
Today co-anchor, Savannah Guthrie, agreed.
"Yeah, we just have to respect her," she said. "Whatever she decides we have to respect her."
