After nine years, Julie Chen has quit The Talk following her husband Les Moonves’ sexual harassment scandal, RadarOnline.com can report.

“I have been at The Talk since the day it began,” Chen said in a pre-taped message on the CBS talk show this afternoon. “Right now, I need to spend more time at home with my husband and young son. So I have decided to leave The Talk.”

"I want to thank everyone at the show for the wonderful years together. I will always, always cherish the memories we shared."

"Most important, I want thank you, the viewers, for allowing me into your home everyday. It was a privilege that I will forever be grateful for. To everyone behind the scenes I send you my love. I will miss you all very very much."

She then thanked cohosts Eve, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Sara Gilbert for their "sisterhood."

"You ladies got this, and I cannot be more proud to call you my friends," she concluded.

"Thank you so much Julie for the kind words," Gilbert responded. "I created this show as a place for friends to come together. And I know I speak for all the hosts when I say we thank you for eight years of dear friendship and for all you did to contribute to success of the show. We love you Julie."

Radar first reported Chen, 48, was planning to walk away last night.

“People at The Talk believe she’ll decide not to come back,” a source told Radar. “For now, she’s taking at least a week off.”

As Radar previously reported, CBS CEO Moonves resigned from his position after several women came forward accusing him of sexual harassment.

Chen will always stand by him, a source told Radar last week.

She believes it’s all part of his past and there’s nothing recent,” the source explained.

Showing solidarity to her man, she signed off from Big Brother on September 13 by saying, “I’m Julie Chen Moonves. Goodnight.”

CBS released a statement about Chen's departure from the show.

“For eight seasons, Julie Chen has co-hosted THE TALK with incredible energy, grace and professionalism. Her talents played a big role in our successful launch of CBS’ first network daytime talk show, and in the series growth into an Emmy Award-winning broadcast. All of us here have tremendous appreciation for the dedication and passion she brought to the show every day and for her generous role as an ambassador for CBS Daytime. We are grateful for her many other contributions, respect her decision and wish Julie all the best in everything she does.”
