Doug Davidson Dumped From 'Young And The Restless' After 40 Years

Doug Davidson was dumped from Young and the Restless after 40 years, and now the actor confirmed on social media he wont be returning to the hit soap show.
Davidson, who plays Paul Williams, Genoa City’s police chief on Y&R, responded to tweets from concerned fans on Tuesday.
“They are doing away with history,” Davidson, the show’s longest-running cast member, tweeted in response to a fan asking what was going on.
Davidson said it "seemed so" that he was officially let go from the show.
The beloved star also confirmed the news to Soap Dirt, saying "My contract was not renewed in January and I have been recurring since then.”
"You have all been so incredible! It’s been fabulous. Thank you so much for 40 years of love," he Tweeted.
