Demi Lovato put her beloved Hollywood Hills home up for sale this week for $9.5 million — and now, a family friend told RadarOnlline.com exclusively that her family is insisting she "stay away from Hollywood forever!"
The troubled singer's loved ones, including mother Dianna Hart, believed she was surrounded by bad influences in the Los Angeles area, and want her to have a fresh start after she completes rehab later this fall, the source said.
However, the 26-year-old — who overdosed in her mansion on July 24 after a wild night of partying in West Hollywood — just doesn't agree.
"Demi is throwing a fit about it," the source claimed. "She is cooperating in rehab, but she is not happy right now because Hollywood is her home."
"She told them that if she wanted to use drugs, she could get them anywhere. L.A. is not the problem."
As previously reported, Hart once considered getting conservatorship to protect her daughter, who was recovering in Cedars Sinai hospital at the time.
"It was her family's decision to get rid of that house," the source said. "Dianna told her that if she does not want to cooperate and listen to her, she could consider going after conservatorship again."
Lovato is currently in an inpatient rehab facility outside of California, where she is expected to remain for at least three months.
She will stay out of the spotlight for the rest of the year while she recovers, an insider previously told Radar.
