Prosecutors Want Bill Cosby’s Prior Victims To Testify At Sex Assault Sentencing
Prosecutors in the Bill Cosby trial filed a motion asking Judge O’Neill to allow prior victims speak at his sentencing, which was less than month away and is expected to be one of the highest watched sentencing in history.
In the motion filed Tuesday, prosecutors said that “the Commonwealth intends to present numerous witnesses who will testify that the defendant sexually abused them.”
The court filing urged Judge Steven O’Neill to permit the prosecution to bring in several witnesses who will testify that Cosby drugged or sexually abused them.
Bill Cosby’s sentencing was scheduled for Sept. 24 and 25.
“They will provide testimony relevant to the proper assessment of the defendant’s character, background, dangerousness to the community, and rehabilitative needs,” the motion filed by Kevin Steele stated.
Steele also noted the prosecution plans to prove the “uncharged crimes” to accurately assess Cosby’s prior record score. “The victims’ in court, live testimony will provide the ‘necessary evidentiary link between the defendant and the uncharged prior conduct.’”
More than 50 women came forward and claimed Cosby had drugged and raped them. He was convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his Philadelphia home in 2004.
As RadarOnline.com readers know, Cosby was deemed a "sexually violent predator" by the state and even lashed out on shrinks during the examination.
Last week, the convicted comic hired a new attorney to assist his legal team during his two-day sentencing and appellate issues.
