Audrey Roloff revealed the real reason her and husband Jeremy quit Little People, Big World was because she hated the cameras, RadarOnline.com has learned.
"Segueing away from the cameras has been a big shift for us," Audrey, 27, told Jenna Kutcher during an interview on the Goal Digger podcast. "But we are really excited about just being able to really press into writing and speaking and creating and just devoting all of our efforts in the things that we feel the Lord has called us to, and also raising a family away from the cameras," Audrey admitted.
Audrey revealed when she first met Jeremy on a blind date she didn't realize what exactly she was getting herself into. It wasn't until her wedding day that she acknowledged the down side to being in the spotlight.
"During our long distance relationships, I sort of was around the cameras but not too much," she said, adding it wasn't until their wedding that she got "thrust into it."
"They wanted to film the dress shopping, the cake tasting, everything leading up to our wedding, including our wedding day! That was a crazy process, and for me, it was something that I never anticipated or imagined," Audrey said.
Audrey recalled being "so close" to backing out of having her wedding filmed for the whole world to see, but stuck it out in the end.
"I just had to remind myself all along like this is a part of the life of the man that I'm marrying"
Audrey told Kutcher she never quite got used to the cameras following her, even years after their wedding!
"You never get used to it. It's just a weird thing," she said, adding that Jeremy has always said "we aren't made for the spotlight."
Audrey explained what it was like having her life filmed all those years. "People are coming into your house, turning all your books backwards and covering your body with tape because there can't be any logos; and lights everywhere and camera crew men," she said. "It's just very invasive."
