Scene Stealer! Roseanne ‘Livid’ Over ‘Darlene’ Spinoff Plans
As they say in Hollywood, the show must go on — and it turns out canceled ABC reboot Roseanne is!
As RadarOnline.com was the first to report, just one day after Roseanne was yanked off the air following the show’s star, Roseanne Barr, making racist remarks, the massive production team held a meeting to save the sitcom by creating a clever spinoff.
And now that the idea is quickly turning into a reality, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal the disgraced 65-year-old comedienne is “livid” over the news!
“The network execs feel like the spinoff centered around Sara Gilbert’s character Darlene could do extremely well, and it would be a great way for them to save the jobs of those who were left stranded and jobless by Roseanne’s careless actions,” an ABC insider explained.
“But Roseanne thinks that the spinoff is an absolutely awful idea and she believes that, without her, the show will fail miserably!”
But Barr’s opinion doesn’t seem of any concern to network higher-ups, who are expected to announce the spinoff plans sometime this week!
“The only think that everyone is trying to figure out now is how to repackage the show and what to do with Roseanne’s character,” the source told RadarOnline.com.
“They know that they have to address this and they are trying to come up with clever ways to engage the audience and keep viewers at the same time.”

“Roseanne is such a strong character and was pivotal to the show’s success,” the insider added. “No one knows if Darlene could carry the show on her own, but they are all willing to give it a try.”
