The young sister of Queen Maxima of Holland is dead. As RadarOnline.com has learned Inés Zorreguieta was found hanged inside her Buenos Aires, Argentina home this Wednesday night. She had reportedly suffered from depression and mental illness for years.
The siblings’ father died just last year, of cancer.
Inés, 33, was Princess Ariane’s godmother and a longtime worker for the government of Argentina.
After her sister’s sudden passing, Queen Maxima, 47, has cancelled all her upcoming royal engagements. It is uncertain whether she will accompany husband King Willem-Alexander on his International tour next week.
Dutch Prime Minister called the tragic news of Inés’ death “intensely sad and heartbreaking.”
“The sudden passing away of Queen Maxima's sister comes as a great shock. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Queen and her family,” he added, according to a report.
