Hollywood comeback!

Washed up star Matthew Perry is pleading with The West Wing producers to give him a much-needed comeback role.

Ever since the idea of a reboot for the hit series started floating around, Perry was eager to get his foot in the door with execs. “This a reboot is something Matt has been trying to make happen."

Pals say Perry, 48, considers the episodes he appeared in as some of his best and most important work, and he’s been using all the pull he has at Warner Bros and NBC from his Friends days to get a much bigger part in the sequel.

"Working on a highbrow show like The West Wing with Aaron Sorkin and his gang is infinitely more appealing to Matt than a Friends reunion."

Perry always "hated" the idea of a Friends reunion and managed to "alienate the rest of the cast over it," but at the same time he knows he needs a major comeback and this would be the perfect way to make that happen.

As readers know, talk of a Friends reboot has been looming for years now, with some of the cast open to the idea but other, like Perry, were opposed.
