Roseanne Barr’s ex-husband, Tom Arnold, made a bombshell reveal — just one day after the actress’ hit show got cancelled due to her racist tweet.

In a shocking interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Arnold, 59, claimed that Barr, 65, wanted Roseanne to be cancelled after just one season of the reboot, which is why she sent the offensive tweet.

“It had to happen,” he said. “And I am going to tell you the truth, she wanted it to happen, if you saw how her tweets escalated this weekend.”

“If it hadn’t happened yesterday, this season would have been so awful for everyone every day because she would have felt like she was being taken advantage of, just like when I left the show,” Arnold added.

Arnold — who was married to Barr from 1990 to 1994 — began working as a writer on the show in 1998.

In his interview, the former bouncer said Barr was going through some mental illness issues and ABC should have monitored her, and taken her phone away so she couldn’t send that tweet.

“ABC lost maybe $1 billion from this; this show was grinding out money hand over fist and they lost it all because somebody didn’t say, ‘Get that phone out of her hand,’” Arnold said. “She’s not going to go on TV and say these things. But you put that phone in her hand and she is a loose cannon.”

Arnold also spoke to CNN about his ex’s Twitter rant, saying that knowing how the actress has been acting, he “could see it coming.”

As RadarOnline.com readers know, Barr took to Twitter earlier this week to insult Barack Obama’s former staffer, Valerie Jarrett, by calling her the result of “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes.”

Though the actress later apologized and claimed she believed Jarrett, 61, was white, social media haters were not having it.

Said Arnold: “This monkey thing is something she’s tweeted before about black people, why is it okay? It’s a meme that she and thousands of her alt right fans do. They love calling black people monkeys, it’s not a one time joke. They do it because we have a white trash racist president, and that’s a fact.”

Arnold also claimed that his ex “obviously” suffered from mental illness. As RadarOnline.com readers know she even tried to blame her racist comment on the sleeping medicine, Ambien.

She’s having mental issues right now but that doesn’t make it ok,” he added. “They had to cancel the show.”
