Allison Mack Had 'Crisis' Before Finding Friend In Alleged Cult Leader Keith Raniere

Allison Mack experienced a quarter life crisis right before meeting alleged NXIVM sex cult leader, Keith Raniere, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

RadarOnline uncovered a podcast from 2015, in which the Smallville actress, 35, told host Phil Morris that she had a "quarter of a century crisis" at the age of 25. She shockingly revealed she didn't know what direction her life was going at the time.

"I was walking through New York City and I was like, oh my gosh, I have everything I thought I need to feel ok in me, and I still feel insecure, and I still feel uncomfortable, and I still feel jealous, and I still feel unsatisfied," Mack explained.

The actress continued that she "went on this mission to find a teacher" when a friend introduced her to Raniere. She raved about Raniere's "high IQ" to the host.

"He's just a phenomenal human being whose incredibly intelligent," Mack told Morris.

At the time, Mack said Smallville had just ended. Mack said she was in the process of buying a house in Los Angeles to continue her acting career when Raniere shifted her perspective.

"He was like, 'Why don't you take some time to take advantage of the privilege that you have, which is that you don't have to work right now? You can actually stop and spend time figuring out who you are and what you represent and what you want your life to be about and then choose where you want to go from there," she recalled.

As RadarOnline.com readers know, Raniere was arrested in March on sex trafficking charges for leading the NXIVM sex cult. The cult has been accused of sexually abusing, threatening and blackmailing women.

Mack, too, is facing similar criminal charges after being accused of being Raniere's top recruiter for the cult. She is currently under house arrest in California.

Mack revealed during the podcast that Raniere had become her "best friend."

"I check in with him as often as I can and we talk as often as I can," she admitted. "Sometimes it's every day. Sometimes it's a couple times a week."

She also raved about the work he did mentoring others: "He's working with a men's organization that's about helping men build character and honor. He's working with a women's organization that's about helping women understand who they are separate and aside from men so that we can bring balance back into the world."

Mack did not use to the term "NXIVM" during the podcast.

Raniere and Mack are scheduled to appear in Brooklyn Federal Court Friday, May 4.
