Howard Stern and Robin Quivers were discussing sports host Mike Francesca's return to radio, when the Shock Jock hinted that his time to go could be looming, RadarOnline.com has learned.
On The Stern Show Monday, the radio personality did not shy away from his feelings on retirement.
"I'm just one of these human beings, I've accepted is just miserable all the time. "And work makes me miserable." Stern, 64, began. "But then people say to me, 'if you didn't have work you'd be miserable too, you would miss it.' But I really do not believe that's true."
The radio mogul had just returned from a week long vacation when the comments were made.
"On vacation I get up and have breakfast. Then I'd get up and take a walk with my wife. Then I'd come home and I'd paint. I enjoy the painting. I had a great time. I don't think I'd have any problem being retired."
Francesca's speedy return to radio made the host think long and hard if retiring now would be the right decision.
"That's why I was following the Mike Francesca story while I was away. I was kind of obsessed with it. I was just so interested." Stern explained. "Like literally a month ago, he was set for his retirement. He said I want to retire: 'that's it I've had enough, I don' want to do this anymore.'"
"So the guy leaves in December and all of a sudden he's back," Stern adds. "That is the world's shortest retirement."
