Prince Philip has returned home to Windsor after a hip replacement left him laid up in the hospital for days.
“His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh left King Edward VII Hospital at midday today, following a hip replacement operation last week. The Duke will continue his recovery at Windsor,” the palace noted in a statement. “His Royal Highness would like to convey his appreciation for the messages of good wishes he has received.”
Philip’s trip home means the 96-year-old royal should be well enough to attend with his wife, Queen Elizabeth, what is perhaps the most anticipated event of 2018 — Prince Harry’s nuptials with Meghan Markle on May 19 .
This month, he is also set to welcome his sixth great-grandchild when Prince William and Kate become parents for the third time.
As RadarOnline.com reported, Philip has suffered issues with his health over the past few years, including a serious infection last June.
