Laurence Fishburne and estranged wife Gina Torres have finally signed off on their divorce settlement, but they won’t be officially single for a few more weeks, according to court documents obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com.
Although a Los Angeles judge signed off on the stipulated agreement on Monday, April 16, 2018, court documents reveal the once-dynamic duo's marital status will officially end on May 11, 2018. Details of the stipulated divorce settlement, however, will remain confidential.
“Given that both Parties are publicly known persons, in order to ensure their personal safety and privacy, the Parties agreed that the specific terms and conditions of this Judgement affecting their property, support, and custody rights shall be reflected in a separate agreement (‘Confidential Settlement Agreement’) executed contemporaneously with this Stipulated Judgement,” according to the affidavit.
The black-ish actor filed for divorce on Nov. 2, 2017, but the two have been separated since October 14, 2016 after 14 years of marriage. The couple has one child, 10-year old Delilah.
“Irreconcilable differences have arisen between the Partied which have led to the irremediable breakdown of the marriage, making it impossible for the Partied to live together as husband and wife,” according to the court document.
In prior court filings, Fishburne and Torres had agreed to joint custody of their daughter and the division of their properties, but this recent judgement will supersede all other oral and/or written agreements between the former couple and their respective attorneys. It also looks like both Fishburne and Torres agreed to waive their right to inherit anything from the other's estate should one of them dies.
“Each Party recognizes and acknowledges by execution of this Stipulated Judgement and the Confidential Settlement Agreement that the division of community property as set forth ... may or may not constitute an equal division of community property, but each Party accepts the division of community as full and complete satisfaction of all community property rights,” according to the April 16 court document.
Lawrence has two other children from a previous marriage, Montana and Langston Fishburne.
