Barbara Bush Dies At 92

First Lady Barbara Bush died on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the age of 92.
The wife and mother of former presidents passed away in Texas after deciding in April not to seek further medical treatment for congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
“A former First Lady of the United States of America and relentless proponent of family literacy, Barbara Pierce Bush passed away at the age of 92,” the family spokesperson announced.
“She is survived by her husband of 73 years, President George H.W. Bush; five children and their spouses; 17 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and her brother, Scott Pierce. She was preceded in death by her second child, Pauline Robinson “Robin” Bush, and her siblings Martha Rafferty and James R. Pierce.”
Her son George W. Bush served as president from 2000 to 2008 and her son Jeb Bush ran for office in 2016.
She and George were married for 73 years.
Funeral details “will be announced as soon as is practical,” the family said.
