Jason Hitch isn't giving up on love! The 90 Day Fiancé star exclusively revealed to RadarOnline.com that he has called off his divorce from wife Cassia Tavares.
Hitch filed for divorce from Tavares after a tumultuous year of marriage on January 30, 2018 in Hernando County, Florida. He dismissed the petition for divorce on March 15, 2018.
"I still love her," Hitch told RadarOnline.com. "I don't want a divorce. I love her and I want to take care of her. What kind of man would I be if I quit this relationship?"
Tavares is on the same page as Hitch, as he said the two are "at the very beginning stages of reconciling."
"We text everyday," he said of his wife, who lives on campus at a college an hour away. "I saw her last weekend. I'll see her next weekend. She graduates in May."
Hitch explained how being away from each other contributed to their reconciliation.
"She and I realized how much crap is out there in the world," he explained. "Having someone to love you and support you on your bad days is a good thing. She's seen the struggles when it comes to dating, money, school and being on your own. It's the same for me too."
Starcasm was the first to report that Hitch called off the divorce.
In January, Hitch explained how he chose to file for divorce because he couldn't "fulfill her expectations."
"I did everything I could," he explained. "I took her to every major city in the country. We went to Vegas four times. I paid for resorts to stay for weekends. We saw every show and concert, hung out with celebrities."
He continued, "I had expectations from her and she wasn't fulfilling them. She wasn't communicating with me what they were. She would not talk. I had to beg for attention. It was humiliating."
In January 2017, Hitch was arrested for domestic battery against Tavares.
"Cassia Tavares and her husband, Jason Hitch, began arguing over marital issues while lying in bed," the reporting officer wrote. "Jason then grabbed Tavares by her left arm, leaving a mark and then pushed Rita off of the bed causing her to fall to the floor. Jason then began screaming at Tavares to the point Tavares was in fear and dialed 911 for law enforcement."
The officer confirmed she had "redness just above the crease of her inner arm on her lower bicep."
When the officer made contact with Hitch, he explained how "nothing happened" and Tavares was being "rude and refused to sleep on the couch." He claimed he "did not know" how she got the red mark on her arm.
The case was dropped.
