Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman and his wife Beth were reportedly robbed of thousands of dollars of cash from their L.A. hotel room on Thursday.

The New York Daily News reported that about $5,000 in cash was taken from the Luxe Hotel room in Los Angeles where the reality TV icon and his wife were staying, according to reports.

The robbery didn't include any Chapman jewelry or luggage—only the money was taken.

Chapman starred from on A & E's Dog the Bounty Hunter, in which he tracked down fugitives and often, earned a bounty if they jumped bail. The show was canceled after eight years in 2012.

Country Music Television produced a spinoff Dog And Beth: On The Hunt, which made a nice anniversary present for the long-married couple. But that show was canceled, too.

As RadarOnline.com has reported, Chapman has had family problems through the years.

Authorities said there were no signs of forced entry at the hotel.

Could the theft have been an inside job? Investigators are looking into it, reports said.
