Chip and Joanna Gaines may be putting TV behind them to serve breakfast, RadarOnline.com has learned!
The Fixer Upper couple purchased the famed Elite Café in Waco, Texas on May 9, 2016 — and plans to turn it into a breakfast-only restaurant!
But don't expect the reality stars to serve a Southern breakfast, as they purchased the property on the grounds that they would not reopen it as a barbeque joint!
"Grantee does herby acknowledge, represent, warrant, covenant and agree that, so long as a Rudy's Country Store and Bar-B-Q restaurant, or similar barbeque themed restaurant, owned by Grantor or Grantor's successors, assigns or affiliates, is located within a straight-line radius of five (5) miles from the Property, the Property shall not be used for a full or quick service restaurant selling, serving, catering, providing, or preparing barbeque foods of any kind or quality," their deed read.
Chip, 41, and Joanna, 38, spent $1,484,000 on the building; it is unknown how much they have spent on renovations.
"The restaurant itself is literally one big giant kitchen," Chip told Southern Living. "When we first got in there, it was all the things you can imagine—dingy, musky. But if I took you in there today, you'd be like 'Oh! This is so clean, everything smells so great.'"
But, a Waco clerk confirmed to RadarOnline.com that only one construction permit (for a sign) has been placed on the property. The once-broke couple has not been paid for yet.
