Does Mariah Know? Carey's Fiancé James Packer Secretly 'Audited' By Scientology
Sept. 22 2016, Published 3:35 p.m. ET
Mariah Carey's billionaire fiancé James Packer caught the attention of the Church of Scientology, RadarOnline.com has learned.
According to claims in author Steve Cannane's new book, Fair Game: The Incredible Untold Story of Scientology in Australia, Packer received "auditing from top Scientology personnel" and "penthouse treatment" with spokesman Tom Cruise in the early 2000s.
"The big project we were working on was Jamie Packer," Marty Rathbun, who was formerly second-in-command at the church, said. "He would come by from time to time when he was in the States and we would after session go up to the President's suite."
"It's the penthouse suite at the Celebrity Centre in L.A. — Tom had it reserved for that entire several month period," Rathbun added.
In an interview with The Daily Mail, Cannane called Packer a "top priority" for the church at the time, with Cruise acting as a close confidant during James' divorce from model Jodhi Meares.
Now of course, Packer is busy getting ready to walk down the aisle in a luxurious wedding with singer Mariah Carey.

When asked about the over-the-top ceremony in a recent interview, Carey said, "The most important thing about the wedding is the relationship and the connection and the love of it all, but of course I love a grand moment. But we're not going to have tons of people and stuff like that. It's very private."
But does she know about Packer's previous brush with Scientology? There's no time like the present!
According to DM, representatives for Packer didn't respond to comment.
