Brad Pitt is not under investigation for child abuse, RadarOnline.com has learned — at least, not by the LAPD.

As reports broke this morning that an incident involving his six children was under investigation by the authorities, Officer Jenny Houser of the LAPD told Radar, "He is not under investigation by the LAPD at this time."

Asked whether that means he is also not under investigation by the Department of Child Services, however, she said, "We are not connected. They are a completely separate entity from us."

When reached for comment by Radar, Amara Suarez at the DCFS was tight-lipped. Suarez told Radar, "We have very strict confidentiality laws. The laws don't allow us to confirm or to deny any investigations."

Reports claimed Pitt, 52, roughed up several of his children last week, days before Angelina Jolie, 41, filed for divorce. She has requested sole physical custody of the children: Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Shiloh, 10, Zahara, 11, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.
