After suffering the humiliation of a catfish scandal, Sister Wives star Meri Brown revealed her heartbreak over the traumatic ordeal.
During this season's emotional finale on Sunday, Nov. 15, the reality star opened up about the affair during a candid confessional, sharing that it all started when daughter Mariah left for college.
"Usually when people go through empty nest it's a couple doing it together," the 44-year-old tearfully told cameras. "In a plural situation that's not the case. I'm in this place where I just feel alone, isolated, lonely."
When her online romance began to blossom, Brown admits it provided a great deal of comfort—at first.
"He was making me really start to feel love for who he was portraying himself to be," she said of the catfish con. "I felt this release, it just felt really good to laugh."
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, sources told In Touch Weekly that Brown was linked to a Chicago man named "Sam Cooper" in an online romance in which she left more than 10 emotional voicemails, calling for his love and acceptance.

But the reality star claims that she began to notice some farfetched elements to her new beau's story, and overlooked them anyway.
"There were times early on that I was talking to him that I knew he was just feeding me a line of bulls--t, and I chose to ignore it because I enjoyed just talking to somebody," she told cameras.
Things took a turn for the worse when Brown started asking questions.

"When I would ask him about it he would flip out," she said. "He would be almost verbally abusive with me."
When her pseudo-lover began threatening to do some "damage" through "technologically savvy friends," Brown made the horrific discovery that she had been catfished—by a woman.
