Former pageant queen from Irvine, California, Megan Alt, was taken into custody after being accused of making and distributing child pornography.
The 25-year-old, a diligent member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, was accused after photos of her four-year-old victim were sent to a California-stationed Marine. Soon after, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) investigated the case.
"She admitted to a lot of the criminal allegations that were being made," Orange County Sheriff's Department Lt. Jeff Hallock said of the arrest.
Alt's husband, who was unaware of her dealings, cooperated throughout the investigation, taking the couple's children into his sole care.
The former pageant queen had taken the crown for Mrs. Orange County in 2014, and even competed for Mrs. California later that year.
