Damage Control! Kris Jenner Filmed Weepy 'KUWTK' Clip After Backlash From Bruce Interview — 'Needed To Show Softer Side'

Kris Jenner didn't provide a comment to Diane Sawyer for Bruce Jenner's historic interview special last month. But RadarOnline.com has learned she decided to make a statement the best way she knows how — through Keeping Up with the Kardashians! Sources tell RadarOnline.com that Kris taped a teary meltdown about Bruce's sex change AFTER his interview with Sawyer aired, in the hopes of getting the public opinion back on her side.

A preview of the blockbuster reality TV moment broadcast on TODAY showed Kris in full make-up, and in her pajamas, in her bed, with daughter Kim Kardashian. Growing teary, Kris said, “I have these memories of like, this life, and I feel sometimes like it didn't exist.”

But according to the source, it was another moment of reality fakery.

"Kris was in pure damage control and needed to show a softer side, and so she decided the best way to do it was to film with Kim after Bruce's interview,” the source said. "It was absolutely shot after Bruce's appeared on 20/20 with Diane Sawyer. The criticism that Kris received for not publicly supporting Bruce really stung. This was her attempt to show a softer side, and get the fans back in her corner."

Days later, Jenner was forced to recant, and admit ABC did reach out for comment.

This isn't the first time Kris and Kim have been caught in deceptive filming for KUWTK.

In 2012, RadarOnline.com exclusively reported that Kardashian and Kris had an emotional heart-to-heart chat about the breakdown of Karadashian's marriage to Kris Humphries. While it appeared to be shot on location in Dubai, it actually all took place two months after the trip, and was filmed on a sound stage in Los Angeles.
